As the premiere date is drawing near, producers have released a new behind the scenes video for “Dexter” season 6, in a bid to offer fans a closer look at the twisted plot they have prepared for them. You can see the clip below, in full.

Countless teasers so far have made one thing clear: in the upcoming season, which premieres this fall, Dexter will become religious – of sorts.

Picking up one year after the events in the previous season, Dexter is now Rita- and Lumen-less, and forced to focus most of his energy on his son, who is his sole responsibility.

Oddly enough, this will also make Dexter more in control than ever, he’ll “move forward into a place where the death of Rita and the absence of Lumen [are] no longer hanging over him,” we learn from the new teaser.

In a bid to offer his son the best example and education possible, Dexter will start considering religion. He wants Harrison to grow up to be a normal person, if possible.

The teaser also offers a better look at two of the newest additions to the cast, Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks who, by the looks of things, will be the baddies of the season.

Previously described as a “brilliant expert on ancient artifacts who somehow becomes linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami,” Hanks’ character turns out to be a “bad guy” who “believes that he’s doing the right thing.”

In doing “the right thing,” he is assisted by his religion professor, played by Olmos.

As if all this wasn’t enough, a new wave of murders also shakes Miami to the core: the season opens with the discovery of a body on the beach. Cause of death is unclear “and it just gets weirder from there.”

All in all, season 6 of “Dexter” promises to be weird and captivating – actually, weirder and more captivating than the previous 5. Check out the new video below.
