Without a doubt, Asus had quite a few interesting surprises in store for CES 2011, but it seems that the Taiwanese company is still “up to a lot of good”, since they're apparently preparing the launch of yet another addition to their Eee PC netbook lineup, called the Sirocco. So, as NotebookItalia reports, the company has already sent out some teasing press invites (for an January the 19'th event), depicting some sand dunes and the subtitle "Making Waves" – "Float", previously used in the case of some of Asus' fashion notebooks (including the Karim Rashid model).

For this reason, it's safe to assume that we're talking about a brand-new Eee PC stylish design, that brings a little something from that dune-ish look.

For those of you who're not really familiar with the Mediterranean and North-African climates, we'll have to point that the sirocco is a Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and reaches hurricane speeds in North Africa and Southern Europe.

In other words, Asus wants to suggest the fact that their future Eee PC will be able to reach hurricane-like speeds, while also featuring a very light and quite elegant form factor.

Unfortunately, that's just about all the info available (or better said, deducted) for the time being, since the teaser invite mentioned above doesn't offer any significant information regarding what we might expect from these things in terms of hardware configuration.

However, given the current status of the industry and the various mobile computing platforms available, we'd dare to say that the new Asus Eee PC Sirocco will be running the AMD Brazos APU Zacate E-350, although Intel Atom Oak Trail and even NVIDIA's Tegra 2 platform shouldn't really be completely ruled out (although they're less likely candidates).

Oh well, guess that we'll have to wait for a couple of more days in order to see what the Sirocco is all about.
