One of the latest mobile phones coming from Samsung, the T819 model (or SCH-T819), has been spotted at FCC, with pictures and User Manual, and is apparently heading to a US release via T-Mobile. Being a 3G handset, Samsung T819 will be launched only when T-Mobile upgrades its network to 3G, which should happen somewhere at the beginning of 2008.

This is the second 3G Samsung phone announced to be released by T-Mobile, after the T639 model, approved by FCC back in July.

Unlike T639, which comes in a clamshell form, the new T819 has a slider design, a pretty nice one, and it's a dual-band 850/1900 GSM / EDGE WCDMA handset. There are no details about the phone's size or about its display, although from the pictures this seems to be a decent one. The device offers Bluetooth connectivity, microSD card support, Mp3 Music Player, WAP browser, a modest 1.3 Megapixel camera and Voice Mail. It can memorize 30 missed calls, 30 incoming and 30 outgoing, while its Phone Book supports caller groups, picture ID, ring ID and multiple numbers per contact.

The new Samsung slider is Java-enabled, thus allowing a wide range of games to be installed. Instant messaging capabilities are featured, as the slider comes with pre-installed Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ and Windows Live. Other features include MMS, E-mail, Speaker Phone, Voice command, Voice dialing, Voice recording, Organizer, Calendar, Unit Converter and so on.

For the moment, there is no word from T-Mobile or from the South Korean producer about Samsung T819's price, but it can not be a high one, as its features make it a mid to low-end device. Anyway, the phone's 3G capabilities are great, and T-Mobile will surely add more handsets of this kind for its future upgraded network.
