Microsoft is offering Office Professional Plus 2007 with a new price tag of just $25 net, representing the first year payment. This is of course valid only through the Redmond giant's Open Value Subscription program, as Eric Ligman, Microsoft senior manager, Community Engagement, US Partner Strategy, Marketing and Programs explained. In this context, only the software company's enterprise customers will be able to access Office Professional Plus 2007 and take advantage of the discounts associated with the Open Value Subscription program. The offering is available from Microsoft's partners.

"If your clients have OEM, Retail Box, or Volume Licenses of Microsoft Office Professional 2003 or 2007 and they enter into an Open Value Subscription Agreement for Microsoft Office Professional Plus, they would qualify for the $90 first year ERP through the Up-to-date discount for those licenses. Once they make the purchase, you should be taking them to the Big Easy Promotion page and having them submit for their Partner subsidy check. (...) The Partner subsidy amount for Microsoft Office Professional Plus through Open Value Subscription is $65 each," Ligman stated.

Without any discounts, the annual payment for Microsoft Office Professional Plus, even with the Open Value Subscription, is $179. However, Microsoft is offering an initial Up-to-date discount of no less than $90. But of course there is more, namely the Partner subsidy check, which on top of the Up-to-date discount will lower the first annual payment for every incense of Office Professional 2007 Plus to just $25. However, even without the Up-to-date discounts, customers can benefit from the Partner subsidy check which takes the price of the product down to just $114 for the first year payment.

"Your clients with existing OEM, Retail Box, or Volume Licenses of Microsoft Office Professional 2003 or 2007 qualify to get Microsoft Office Professional Plus for $90 each first year payment through the Up-to-date discount. They would then qualify for a $65 Partner subsidy check from Microsoft for each one they purchased. So, $90 - $65 = $25 first year payment for each Microsoft Office Professional Plus license through Open Value Subscription," Ligman added.
