NetSketch is a collaborative drawing app for the iPhone and iPod touch that lets users co-draw a picture in real time, over a wireless network. Ben Gotow, the developer of this innovative piece of software has updated NetSketch to include tabbed colors, and an enhanced email interface.

According to the App Store listing, "NetSketch version 1.3 introduces a new, tabbed color picker that allows you to rapidly flip between brushes as you draw! Select a different brush color and size for each of three tabs in the color picker, and you can flip between them as you work. Leaving one of the brushes white allows you to quickly erase any unwanted lines." Improvements to the interface for emailing your drawings include a progress indicator.

NetSketch renders images in a fully scalable vector space, which means that the space is independent of the size of the iPhone's screen, which makes it possible to get accurate, anti-aliased lines when you zoom in. Undoubtedly, the app's ability to make the drawings visible on a network is its flagship feature. The numbers printed on the right hand side show how many people are editing each drawing, while users can choose a drawing to view and edit it by selecting it from the list. Those co-editing an image will see each other's changes reflected on the iPhones' screens in real time. You can also choose to share a drawing only with whom you want to (choose specific iPhones and iPods on the network). Naturally, you need to be wirelessly connected to use network sharing.

NetSketch requires an iPhone or iPod touch running firmware 2.0 or later. Wireless sharing requires a wireless internet connection, while Sharing over EDGE and 3G cell networks is not supported. Buy Netsketch for your supported device from here ($5.99), via the iTunes App Store.
