The shooting incident at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. has resulted in the death of one of the alleged shooters.

CNN writes that the death of the gunman has been confirmed by a senior Navy official. Earlier reports showed that two suspects were “down,” without further data on whether or not they had been shot.

Officials at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in D.C. have stated that they had three victims in their care, one man and two women.

Witnesses cited by NBC News only report seeing one shooter, with a semiautomatic rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun. Four people have been killed on the base before the police could put an end to the shooting.

“He turned our way and started firing, and we ran downstairs to get out of the building. [...] No words. He raised the gun and started firing,” employee Todd Brundidge described.
