Just about every mobile phone out there emits a certain level of radiation, the iPhone included, but it would seem that the people over at Native Union have come up with a Bluetooth accessory that will seriously cut down the level of radiation iPhone users are subjected to, namely the MM03i.

The MM03i is a Bluetooth-enabled handset that's available as a complete kit including the handset and weighted base unit with iPhone charge and sync functionality, and, according to the manufacturer, if used, it reduces up to 97 percent the value of radiation absorbed compared to the direct use of one's mobile phone, thus making calls a lot safer and reducing one's chances of getting cancer.

The device comes equipped with an advanced Bluetooth 2.1 chip that automatically pairs with both the computers and the mobile phones, making Skype calls and cell phone calls possible with the same handset.

The device offers a talk time of around 6 hours and a standby time of 120 hours, and offers such functions a call answering by direct pick-up of handset from base, pick-up/hang-up buttons and volume buttons, a noise reduction system and a connection status visual indicator.

“The MM03i fills a void in the iPhone accessories market that allows both charging and cordless phone and VoIP calls all at once," says John Brunner, managing director of Native Union.

"We feel that this will help users not only enhance their home or office in terms of design, but also in overall cell phone productivity. Users will feel an enhanced level of comfort when talking and be reassured knowing they are reducing their exposure to potentially harmful mobile device emissions," Mr. Brunner added.

The Native Union MM03i sells for around $149.99, which is actually quite an OK price point, given the features this thing has in store.
