14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since Kate and Jon Gosselin announced on their show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” that they were getting a divorce, allegations of infidelity on his part have not for a second ceased to circulate. The latest issue of InTouch magazine (story via the Huffington Post) includes an interview with Stephanie Santoro, who worked for Jon as a nanny for about a month, and who now claims she too had an affair with him.
Just like Kate Major before her, Santoro too says Jon was not in the least bit shy or remorseful about bringing dates to his house when the eight children he had with Kate Gosselin were asleep, and even to get into full party mode on special occasions. The same happened while she and Jon dated, when he would ask her to come over at night and get into the jacuzzi. Santoro doesn’t explain, though, how come their affair came to an end.
“We were talking on the phone one night, and the kids were all at home, and he was like, ‘What are you doing tonight?’ and I didn’t have plans. So he goes, ‘Let’s hang out. We can go hang out in the hot tub and talk more about everything.’ So I went over, and we were talking. He asked me if I could give a back massage, and I was like, ‘Okay, whatever.’ So I gave him one and then he was like, ‘my turn.’ While we were sitting there, he said, ‘Well, I guess we can kiss just once.’ At one point he said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t fall in love with me, because it’s going to be impossible for me not to fall in love with you.’” Santoro recalls of her first date with Gosselin.
They had met, it seems, years before she started working with him or became romantically involved, while he and Kate Gosselin were at a twins convention. They rarely spoke afterwards but, after the divorce announcement, Jon began to hang out more at the bar she was working at the time, which is how he came to offer her a job as his nanny. Santoro also says in the same interview that she became fond of Jon, and insists she did not become romantically involved with him for the fame or the money but because she “cared” about him.
“He would say how he wanted to make sure my daughter and I would always be okay, and how he would take care of me. There was no talk about marriage, but we did talk about being together. I don’t think he has ever been apart from Hailey, but he has cheated on Hailey. I know they’ve broken up before. I didn’t know their current status. We talked about it, and he had told me that things were very weird and strange and he would explain it to me, but he didn’t want to hurt me in the process.” the former nanny further explains.
