While kids wear devil costumes

Nadya Suleman, also known as OctoMom in the media, is not the one to shun a little controversy or, for that matter, to be afraid to mock herself or the image she has in the press. Dressed as a pregnant nun and her octuplets in the reddest devil costumes, Suleman knocked from door to door in her neighborhood, in what was the kids’ first trick or treating ever. She was, of course, also surrounded by paparazzi, The Sun informs.

It’s not so much that Suleman chose a nun’s outfit for this Halloween that is getting people rather outraged as the fact that she would go for a pregnant nun nonetheless. It’s as if she’s not only making fun of herself, but also of all those US citizens who were deeply disturbed by her decision of expanding her family from six to 14 via in vitro fertilization when she doesn’t even have a job to provide for it.

“Ten-month-olds Maliah, Nariah, McCai, Josiah, Jonah, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Noah were crammed into two giant prams draped with cobwebs in the run-up to Halloween. Neighbors confronted by Nadya and her brood as she went knocking on doors in La Habra, California, were left bewildered by the stunt. Spookily, she is poised to star in her own reality TV show...” The Sun writes, clearly in disapproval of Suleman’s choice for a Halloween outfit.

It’s not just this particular tabloid that criticizes the costume either, as a mere glance over the headlines and stories now running would clearly show. Then again, chances are OctoMom herself can’t even be bothered about it, especially not now when, as noted above, speculation about an upcoming reality show in which she’s to star is beginning to build up again. It could very well be that she’s finally decided to give reality television a go and put behind her the idea of doing solely a “documentary”-type of series.

Further details on that are not yet available, though. Keep an eye on this space for when something more regarding Suleman’s show is made public.
