Nadya Suleman confirms rumors, but says she’s doing a documentary not a reality show

“Yes, it’s official,” Nadya Suleman tells Life&Style about her much-rumored upcoming reality show. However, the OctoMom says, it’s not actually a reality show that she’ll be a part of but rather a documentary that will follow her and her children’s life until they’re 18, she also explains.

Talk about the forthcoming project first got out in the media at the beginning of the month, but Suleman has kept quiet so far presumably because the contract with the network that would carry it was not yet final or because she was still shopping the show around town to find a network. Now that she has, she is ready to speak out about it – and set the record straight on some aspects that have been misrepresented by the media along the way.

“Yes, it is official. I’m going to be doing a show, but it’s not a reality show.” Suleman says for the aforementioned publication. “What I’m doing with this TV show is basically creating documentaries about the lives of my children. It’s going to be an ongoing thing, and it will follow them from now until they are 18. It’s being done by Eyeworks; they’re in the UK. It will air in the UK and then we’ll see if the US is interested.” the mother of 14 further explains.

In the same interview, Suleman also says that she’s not doing the show for the money or as some sort of justification that she feels she needs to make to the public, but rather because it is also a very convenient method of immortalizing her kids’ childhood. Shooting or even photographing them as they grow up would be almost impossible, she says, which is why having a camera crew around at all times is best for her.

“The producers will come here to film six times a year. They’ll come by and take some footage and then they’ll go. They won’t be invading my life or my children’s lives. It will give me the opportunity to have incredible home movies that, believe me, I don’t have the time to make myself. Having this documentary crew allows me to focus on raising my children and still have great movies of them.” Suleman says.

A release date, even an estimated one, for the documentary series has not yet been made public. Keep an eye on this space for more.
