The Wii version, as you'd expect, has a 'Casual' game mode included

The latest NFS ProStreet developer's diary reveals a bunch of details on the game's Wii version. Development Director Luke Wasserman, talks about a new game mode which sports simpler gameplay and controls. Also, as you'll see in the video, NFS ProStreet looks pretty good on the Wii (not as good as what we've seen on the 360 and PC, but fairly good for a less powerful platform).

So, as you'd have imagined, the Wii version of Need For Speed ProStreet will feature a Casual Mode. This Casual Mode that gamers can choose to enter is for those looking to just pick up on the game and have a quick race, without having to go through the fuss of learning various controls and driving styles. According to Wasserman, casual players will have a Go Button. The Go Button lets the player focus on just driving the car, while assists manage your brake and gas. So basically, it's just turning the Wii Remote to the right or the to left according to the angle of the corner.

You use the controller like you would a steering wheel, and while those playing in the video are holding "naked" Wii Remotes in their hands, there is something that can be strapped on the controller to make it into a steering wheel. No, not a toilet seat but the free steering wheel included with GT Pro Series, assuming that you've purchased the game. Of course, you can also get one separately. Well, this is not important right now.

Control is real simple like for instance, when you're in drag racing mode, you shift the car by simply flicking your wrist towards yourself while holding it vertically. There's no steering involved there though, not as far as I could see anyway.

Of course, the Wii version of NFS ProStreet obviously has a simpler control scheme, smaller detail level and overall simpler gameplay, but that's what the Wii version of any game is like. Still, it certainly looks like it's fun to play.
