Heads roll as network is switching it up to keep up with competition

NBC is fearing it will lose the ratings race so, just hours ago, bosses announced major cuts in both scripted and un-scripted programs. Among the casualties, Rock Center with Brian Williams and “CSI: NY.”

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the primetime newsmagazine was a major investment for the network and it didn’t pay out, so it only made sense to cancel it altogether.

Scripted shows that got the axe include, besides “CSI: NY” (my personal favorite in the entire franchise), “Go On” (which only lasted one season), “1600 Penn,” “Guys with Kids” and “Up All Night.”
