Console launch time every day with Sony...

I guess that being Asian pays off, as Sony's got goodies for its countrymen. Turns out that there's a new version of the PS3 arriving in the Japanese stores next month. You'll be surprised to find out (or not) that it costs almost half of the UK price and that the gaming device is white. The package also includes a white DualShock 3, which will be launched in Japan together with the new console.

We won't be seeing the new controller in Europe or the US till next spring, so once again the Japanese gamers have the upper hand. Young Playstation fans must be feeling extremely confused (and cheated) right about now, since there are so many PS3 versions that we don't know if we've missed something or bought the worst of them. A recent rumor even announced a bigger PS3, a 160GB version, immediately after Sony had launched its 40GB Playstation 3.

So, where's the catch Sony? Is there any gamer out there who's willing to buy a console, just because it has a different color? You might give the DualShock 3 a spin, but it's not worth buying a brand new gaming device for a mere controller. Is Sony finally ready to provide some GAMES for us instead of firmware updates, new colors and hard drives for a console that's aging before its due time? In the meantime the Wii and Xbox 360 launches are coming like there's no tomorrow, with the occasional PS3 blockbuster being...canceled or postponed.

We've already quit thinking about Final Fantasy XIII, as it's a 2009 title, according to Square-Enix, Metal Gear Solid 4 has gone the Xbox way, Ubisoft is not too keen on the PS3's hardware, Unreal Tournament III got postponed ... This is what Sony's next-gen device has achieved till now. Satisfied? Neither are we...
