Officially announced by Canadian carrier Bell two weeks ago, it looks like the Motorola XT860 will make its debut on August 9th.

Although the carrier stated that the 'superphone' will hit shelves sometime “this Summer,” it appears the exact release date of the handset has been leaked courtesy to the guys over at MobileSyrup.

However, the price options of the smartphone have yet to be known to customers, but rumors point to a price tag ranging between $549.95 and $599.95 without contract.

Motorola XT860 4G, also known as Motorola DROID 3 for Verizon customers, sets a new standard for Bell's 'Superphones' category and will be exclusively available from Bell.

Among the strong points of the smartphone is the phone's dual-core 1GHz processor, a permanent number row on the top of the thin QWERTY keypad and a large 4.0-inch qHD touchscreen display.

The Motorola XT860 4G is the superphone for the superhuman task of balancing our personal and business lives. With a dual core processor, ultra-efficient 5th row QWERTY and powerful multimedia features, you're up to the challenge,” said David Petrou, sales director, Motorola Mobility Canada.

Furthermore, Motorola XT860 4G offers Adobe Flash 10 support, allowing users to stream web content, videos and games on the most popular video player available.

The phone boasts an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities (1080p@30fps), as well as a front-facing camera to video chat with friends, family and coworkers whether with Wi-Fi or an HSPA+ connection.

The brilliant 4.0-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display supports 16 million colors and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

When it comes to connectivity, Motorola XT860 4G allows users to connect to other media devices, including computers and TVs, by simply using the embedded plug and play technology, via DLNA or HDMI.

Last, but not least, Motorola XT860 is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and packs 16 GB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
