Following the announcement confirming the availability of the Motorola XOOM and ATRIX in Latin America, Motorola Mobility and Claro announce the arrival of the two devices in Brazil.

Although both Android devices will be widely available in the country through various carriers and authorized sellers, Claro is exclusively retailing Motorola ATRIX’s Lapdock.

Capable of turning the ATRIX into a mobile computing device, the Lapdock features a thin design, and weighs around 1,000 grams.

The Lapdock features a 36Wh extra battery that should provide up to 8 hours of working time, as well as full keyboard and stereo speakers.

Claro is first to offer the revolutionary experience of the Lapdock for Motorola ATRIX,” said Maurizio Angelone, vice president and general manager Mobile Devices Latin America, Motorola Mobility.

The accessory morphs the world’s most powerful smartphone into a computing machine, allowing it to pack the power and capabilities of a PC. We are proud to partner with Claro to share this unique and transformative experience with its customers.”

As additional features for ATRIX owners who are using the Lapdock, Motorola's webtop application will allow them to browse the Internet with a full Firefox desktop browser while accessing all of their Android applications at the same time.

Even though the ATRIX is docked in the Lapdock, users will be able to make and receive calls on their phone. Calls will not be interrupted when the device is removed from the dock.

Unfortunately, Claro does not mention any precise release date nor any price for either of the two Android device.

However, in its previous announcement Motorola Mobility made it clear that both XOOM and ATRIX will be available from major carriers in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, in addition to Brazil, but it was vaguely pointing to a mid-April release.
