14 DAY TRIAL // Starting tomorrow, April 6th, a new Android-powered device is set to become available in Canada, namely the Motorola XOOM WiFi, the 3G-less flavor of the very first Honeycomb-based device in the world.
Tomorrow, the device is expected to be in stock at Best Buy and Future Shop, at least this is what one can read on their websites at the moment.
Initially, the Motorola XOOM WiFi was said to be on its way to land in Canada only in mid-April, with both retailers listing it as available starting with the 15th day of this month.
However, it appears that things move faster than expected, and that enthusiasts should be able to purchase the new device in Canada starting with Wednesday, April 6th.
“Inside its super-slim design, the Motorola XOOM tablet is loaded with everything you need for life on the go,” Best Buy notes on its website.
“A super-fast 1GHz processor and Android 3.0 OS give you the speed and power you need to take total advantage of the dual cameras, 10.1-inch HD display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 32GB internal memory and so much more that will keep you connected to everything,” the retailer continues.
The XOOM is indeed capable of offering impressive performance capabilities to all users, courtesy of the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core 1 Ghz processor, and of the 1GB of RAM is was packed with.
Moreover, the new device comes with a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display that can boast a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, and with 32GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot, which is not active at the moment.
At the same time, the new device comes with WiFi connectivity, as well as with built-in GPS receiver, with support for Google Maps.
When made available for purchase in Canada, the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi tablet PC would sport a price tag of $599.99. It can be seen at Best Buy here, and at Future Shop here.
