Motorola XOOM, the first tablet PC to land on the United States market with Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board, is already arriving in Verizon and Best Buy stores around the United States, ahead of its official release on Thursday, February 24th.

The device is already available for pre-order in the country, featuring a quite leveraged price tag, namely $799, especially when compared to other tablet PCs on the market.

However, the Motorola XOOM is a very powerful Android-based mobile device, packing a dual-core application processor inside, a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, and 32GB of internal memory.

Officially introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, the tablet PC has started to land in Best Buy stores, as the photo attached to this article shows (courtesy of Engadget).

Moreover, it seems that Verizon Wireless stores around the country are also receiving the first units, as they are preparing for the official launch, on February 24th.

The XOOM lands at Verizon with support for the wireless carrier's 3G network, and should be upgraded with 4G LTE support too in the near future, Motorola announced.

All in all, the device seems as appealing as it can be, with the said Android 3.0 OS flavor on board expected to provide users with a brand new experience.

The specs list of this device shows that it offers a 5MP back-facing photo snapper with HD video recording capabilities, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera which can prove great for video calling.

On the down side, we can count the said high price tag it includes (the WiFi-only flavor would also be highly priced, though lower than the 3G-capable flavor), as well as the lack of Adobe Flash (it should arrive sometime this spring).

Those who consider the Motorola XOOM an appealing device have only a few more days to wait before it hits the shelves, and the arrival of the first units in stores proves that things were already set in motion.
