After bringing the SPICE XT affordable smartphone in Mexico, Chile and Peru, Motorola announced the immediate availability of the budget-friendly device in Argentina.

Although there's no word on price tag, this one should be available through main carriers and retailers in the country.

This would be the second affordable Android smartphone launched by the handset maker in Argentina, after the company announced the availability of Motorola PRO+ last week.

However, while the Motorola PRO+ comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, the SPICE XT offers a full touch experience. The smarpthone is known as Motorola FIRE XT in Europe and is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The budget-friendly Android-powered smartphone from Motorola offers users a smoother experience with its 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

Sleek and light, the smartphone measures 114 x 62 x 12 mm and weighs only 114g (battery included). It also features four touch-sensitive keys, allowing for easier handling of the phone.

Even if it does not offer users the advantages of a physical keyboard, typing text and email messages is fast and easy with the Swype touch-screen virtual keyboard.

It is also worth mentioning that the Motorola SPICE XT offers additional personalization options through the Moto Switch user interface.

Motorola SPICE XT sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a secondary VGA front facing camera for video calls.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with an 800 MHz single core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

“Our smartphones have become integral, personal parts of users’ lives – that’s why Motorola believes they should be fun, beautiful and feature-packed. Motorola SPICE XT is an affordable device that gives young, fast-moving users everything they want from a top-quality smartphone,” said German Greco, marketing product director, Motorola Mobility.
