Android enthusiasts living in Mexico rejoice, as Motorola has just introduced two budget-friendly smartphones, the Motorola PRO+ and SPICE XT.

We already reported on the Motorola SPICE XT availability, which can be purchased through Telcel for $250 (190 EUR) outright. However, the carrier is now offering the Motorola PRO+ for free on Telcel 300 plan.

Customers who want to avoid being tied by a long-term contract can purchase the Motorola PRO+ for $5,889 pesos (465 USD or 355 EUR) on prepaid.

Motorola PRO+ is shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board. The phone’s 3G Mobile Hotspot capabilities allows users to connect multiple devices, including laptops, tablets or other smartphones, for access to the Internet.

Although Motorola PRO+ does not feature IP67 certification, the smartphone features scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass coating. The phone comes with a decent 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display with support for 640 x 480 pixels and 16 million colors.

The PRO+ is equipped with a mid-range 1GHz single core processor and packs 4GB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Aside from touchscreen, Motorola PRO+ offers users the advantages of a portrait QWERTY keyboard, allowing for faster and more accurate typing.

Software-wise, the smartphone comes pre-loaded with Quickoffice Connect, which allows users to create and edit documents while on the move. Adobe Flash Player 10.3 and Google Mobile services including Google Maps with Navigation, Google Talk are included as well.

The Motorola PRO+ is incredibly efficient. It has a high-quality screen that offers the clearest picture of the segment along with the Go To Meeting app pre-installed; therefore, offering an advanced user experience. Why shouldn’t you expect your smartphone to make your life easier and to give you an edge at work? We have accomplished that with Motorola PRO+,” said Silvina Gonzalez Podesta, marketing director, Motorola Mobility Mexico.
