Motorola Mobility announced the upcoming availability of the RAZR MAXX in the UK, Germany, Norway and Denmark. Today, the handset vendor confirmed the smarpthone will be available in Sweden as well beginning mid-May.

Unfortunately, there are no details regarding the phone's exact availability of pricing options, though more details may emerge close to launch.

Motorola RAZR's twin brother comes with the same design lines and bar form factor. It even has the same specs sheet with a single exception, which is also the selling point of the RAZR MAXX.

The device is powered by a high-capacity 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 600 hours of standby time or up to 17.6 hours of talk time. However, we suspect the battery's numbers for continuous usage are much lower.

It's interesting that the Motorola is very specific when it mentions the RAZR MAXX will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box an will receive an OTA (over the air) upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2 2012.

Motorola RAZR MAXX is equipped with a dual core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, the smartphone boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls.

Since we re-imagined the iconic RAZR brand, the Motorola RAZR has wowed consumers across the globe by combining the pinnacle of design with mind-blowing power. RAZR MAXX builds on those same principles, delivering an incredible battery life that is perfect for Swedish consumers who want to push their smartphone to the limits and banish the low battery beep to history,” said Victoria McManus, UK and Nordics marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
