Motorola has just confirmed that the RAZR MAXX will be available in the UK from mid-May. Until the phone hits shelves, customers can pre-order it via Clove, Expansys, Amazon and other Motorola authorized resellers.

The RAZR MAXX is available for pre-order for a suggested retail price of £430 (US$695 or €525), but it might go for free on select plans.

Unfortunately, Motorola did not mention any UK-based operators that might carry this smartphone next month.

Motorola RAZR MAXX has the same features as the standard RAZR device with one exception, the former is powered by a high-capacity 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The smartphone is aimed at those who prefer long autonomy above all else. In this regard, Motorola rated the RAZR MAXX battery for up to 600 hours of standby time or up to 18 hours of talks.

Aside from that, the smartphone may stand out thanks to its slim form factor and impressive display. Motorola used the same premium materials, so expect this one to come with KEVLAR fiber on the back, Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and splashguard coating on the inside.

The device is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and packs 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There’s also an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, and a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats.

The highly-praised 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen display supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Since we re-imagined the iconic RAZR brand, the Motorola RAZR has wowed consumers across the globe by combining the pinnacle of design with mind-blowing power. RAZR MAXX builds on those same principles, delivering an incredible battery life that is perfect for people who want to push their smartphone to the limits and banish the low battery beep to history,” said Victoria McManus, UK marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
