Unveiled last month, Motorola's new Android flagship smartphone, the DROID RAZR, or simply RAZR, is about to make its debut in China as well.

After the handset maker officially introduced the CDMA version of the smartphone in the United States, as well as the GSM model, which will be launched in other regions of the world, Motorola RAZR is expected to arrive in the Mainland by the end of the year.

The folks over at UnwiredView discovered that a third version of the Motorola RAZR has just been approved by China's equivalent of the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) and will soon hit shelves.

However, the Chinese version of the smartphone is known as Motorola MT917 and features a slightly different design in comparison with the original model.

As seen in the pictures, the Motorola MT917 has rounded edges, while the Motorola RAZR is known for its rather square-shaped form factor.

Fortunately, the phone is built from the same premium materials, including KEVLAR fiber, Corning Gorilla Glass and splash-guard coating on the inside.

According to the documents filed, Motorola MT917 comes with a large 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

On the back, the phone boasts the same superior 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, image stabilization and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities. There's also a secondary 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that the Motorola MT917 comes with a TD-SCDMA radio inside, which indicates that the smarpthone is en-route to China Mobile carrier.

Software-wise, the phone runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, but Motorola already confirmed that its flagship smartphone will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in early 2012.

No word on the phone's release date or price options yet.
