Mobile-phone maker Motorola announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week the release of a new handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Motorola Quench, and now the company has unveiled the fact that TIM Brazil will launch the device in the country. According to the company, the handset, powered by Google's Android 1.5 operating system, will arrive on the market in Brazil sometime at the end of March, but no price tag for it has been officially disclosed.

The Motorola Quench, as most of you might already know, is set to become available in the United States too, where it will arrive at T-Mobile as the Motorola Cliq XT. The handset was already spotted into the wild a few times before, and Motorola decided to go official with it during MWC, when it also announced that Quench would become available globally in the near future.

The specifications list of the handset, in case there are some who missed previous posts on the matter, includes a 3.1-inch touchscreen display that boasts an HVGA resolution, HSPA connectivity, coupled with Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, and USB capabilities, as well as with a 3.5mm headset jack and built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS.

The Motorola Quench will land on the market with Motorola's MotoBlur solution thrown over the Google Android 1.5 operating system, and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor, coupled with 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM. Other features and capabilities of the handset also include a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and flash, as well as FM radio, Swype and HTML browser.

As stated above, no exact details on the price tag of Motorola Quench at TIM Brazil have been unveiled for the time being, but, based on the specs of the handset, one should expect it to be affordable enough, as it is aimed at the mid-level and not high-end market. However, more details on the matter should be unveiled in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
