A new version of the rounded clamshell will be released soon

A new model from the Motorola PEBL line has recently been discovered on the FCC and is soon to get released on the market. Well, at least it's not a RAZR, which can only be appreciated.

Compared to the RAZR phones and slightly newer KRZRs, the PEBL line was never all that successful on the market and, as a consequence, few such models were released up to this date.

Quite different in design to most of Motorola's products, PEBL still comes in a clamshell form factor, but with rounded edges and a more chubby look. The metallic numeric keypad is still included, as always.

This is probably one of the few details that point to it being one of Motorola's handsets. Very similar to the CDMA U6c, this will most likely be the GSM version with support for at least two bands.

While most of its features aren't yet revealed, it's pretty much a sure thing that it'll be an entry-level mass market phone, eventually with a much lower price tag than in the case of its more stylish and music-centric siblings. Dubbed MotoPEBL U3e, it has recently been approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

Apparently, it will come equipped with a camera with video recording capabilities, push to talk and a media player. The mini-USB port it includes will allow the user to connect the handset to a computer and transfer data.

What else will it include? Well, as the FCC approval is always a sign that the phone's release is getting nearer, its complete spec sheet, price and availability should be revealed by Motorola's official announcement.
