14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola announced its second-generation Moto G back in September of 2014. The phone was released approximately ten months after the launch of the first-generation Moto G, so if we’re following this time pattern, we should expect to see the third-generation Moto G arrive on the market soon.
In March 2015, Motorola also pushed out a 4G version of its second-gen Moto G, which is considered one of the best value-for-money phones released this year. Anyway, by using the 10-month gap between the different generations of the phone, we can calculate that the third-gen Moto G should make it out in July.
We recently told you that Lenovo’s CEO promised that Motorola fans would not be disappointed in the upcoming months. He explained we should expect to see new Motorola Moto products arrive on the market in the upcoming months, and we speculated a third-gen Moto X and a second-gen Moto 360 smartwatch might be the first to see the light of day.
What will the Moto G (3rd-gen) be all about?
However, the third-gen Moto G might beat the other two products to release, as not so long ago, the phone was spotted in a listing with an online retailer. Rumored specs have also leaked online revealing that the handset might arrive with a 5-inch or 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.
The phone might take advantage of a 64-bit Snapdragon 610 SoC with a quad-core 1.7GHz CPU and Adreno 405 GPU, fitted with 2GB of RAM. The third-gen Moto G should also make it out with 4G LTE connectivity on board.
On top of this budget-friendly phone, Motorola is also said to be working on two different versions of the third-gen Moto X flagship.
One of them will take advantage of a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and will be available in the US via Verizon Wireless. The second one will have a 5.2-inch Quad HD display and will probably be launched internationally.
The 5.2-inch model has already leaked with specs, revealing that it will come equipped with a Snapdragon 810 processor fitted with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
The handset is also said to arrive with a 16MP photo snapper, while in front users should find a 5MP camera for video calls and selfies.
