The high-end Motorola MILESTONE is probably the nicest mobile phone running under Android that arrived on the market last year. It is the European version of Motorola DROID, and seems to be capable of delivering a pretty great experience to any user out there. However, that experience might soon get a boost, as Motorola Europe has just confirmed that the handset is to receive an update to Android 2.1 in the near future.

Most of you might have been already waiting for this announcement to be made, as Motorola said at one point last week that all of its devices would be updated to Android 2.1, but this confirmation is meant to dissipate any trace of doubt. Moreover, the announcement, made via Facebook, also unveils that users of a Motorola MILESTONE should expect for another software update to drop in no time, namely 2.0.1.

Motorola DROID was updated to Android 2.0.1 not too long ago, and it seems that Motorola is set to push this firmware solution to MILESTONE before releasing the Android 2.1 update for it. As for the latter software version, it is expected to arrive on the handset within the following two months, so all the novelties that Nexus One users will enjoy are on their way to the owners of a Motorola phone too.

MILESTONE and Android 2.1 might be the main characters here, yet it seems that Motorola hasn't forgotten its other Android users either. Those who own a Motorola DEXT, the European version of CLIQ, will also receive an upgrade to the latest flavor of Android; yet, no time frame for the move has been announced yet. In a nutshell, the mobile phone maker is set to make its Android users pretty happy in the near future, regardless the handset version they own, or the country they live in.
