Canadian wireless carrier TELUS is expected to soon launch on its airwaves a new high-end mobile phone powered by Google's Android operating system, the Motorola MILESTONE, and, even if it hasn't unveiled an official launch date for the device just yet, it seems that confirmation of a release date is already available. The latest rumors around the web suggested that the operator might launch the MILESTONE as soon as February 18 is here, and now Best Buy confirms the move on its website.

Those interested in purchasing the appealing Motorola MILESTONE with a contract agreement on TELUS can already place orders in advance on Best Buy's website, where the announcement reads clearly: “Pre-order the Motorola Milestone in-store today. Simply put a $50 deposit down in-store and on February 18th you will be the first to own the Smartphone without limits.”

The February 18 launch day is not the first rumored one for the MILESTONE on TELUS, as previous rumors suggested the carrier might have it available for its customers sometime in the end of January, but it seems that this time they might actually pan out. However, nothing is quite nailed down until an official announcement is made, and neither TELUS nor Motorola made a move in this direction until now, but we can only hope that the phone won't get delayed.

Most of you might be already familiar with what the MILESTONE has to offer to users, including a large touchscreen display, side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel photo snapper, a nice range of connectivity options, and a great deal of services that are enabled courtesy of Google's Android 2.0 operating system it has on board. Not to mention that it should soon receive an update to the newer Android 2.1 platform, and that its price tag in Canada might be pretty appealing too. According to the mobilesyrup, we might be looking at a price tag of $199 on a three-year contract agreement, and at a cost of $549 if purchased contract free.
