Mobile phone users in the UK can now enjoy two new very appealing handsets running under Google's Android operating system, the Motorola MILESTONE and Acer A1 Liquid. Both handsets are new to the Android ecosystem and sport large touchscreen displays, being also capable of providing users with great communication experiences.

The Motorola MILESTONE is the European version of the Motorola DROID, which is now available for purchase in the US via wireless carrier Verizon. The handset comes to the market with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, as well as with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard, and has been just nominated as the number one device in Time's to 10 gadgets of the year.

The phone has already reached the market in Europe, and has been put on a pre-order status on retail sites for the UK, but now it can be purchased from Expansys, unlocked for £449.99 (around $733) off-contract. However, users can also get the device on a contract with T-Mobile, on a £35.00 per month service agreement for 18 months. For the time being, it seems that the phone is exclusively available from Expansys.

The specifications list of MILESTONE also includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and dual LED flash, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity, the Android 2.0 operating system on board, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, aGPS, IM, MMS, SMS and email functionality, Internet browsing, and access to a variety of services and applications.

As for the new Acer A1 Liquid, it can be purchased in the country either from Expansys, which has it priced at £339.99 (around $556), or from Clove, which sells it for £328.90 (about $538). With a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, as well as with a 5-megapixel photo snapper, this handset is also poised to attract users on its side.
