Recently introduced in the UK, Motorola FIRE has just hit shelves in India and is now available for purchase for only Rs. 8,999 (about $195).

Although Motorola has yet to make an official announcement, the smartphone has already been listed as available by local major retailers, such as Flipkart and Letsbuy.

Unfortunately, the delivery time is a bit longer than expected, as customers who order the Motorola FIRE will receive it in 3-5 working days.

The phone is also available in Germany and UK for €190 and £216.00, respectively, which makes the Indian version way cheaper, especially that the handset is not subsidized.

Android fans living in India who are looking for a cheaper Android smartphone can pick this one, as the FIRE offers all the features that a medium user might require for his needs.

The phone is delivered with the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and comes with Motorola's proprietary MOTOBLUR user interface.

Even though the handset maker changed its name to Moto Switch, the user interface looks very much like the MOTOBLUR UI.

Despite its low-performance 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227-1 processor, complemented by an Adreno 200 GPU, Motorola FIRE is a fast device that offers users a smooth multimedia and web browsing experiences.

Motorola FIRE has a sleek, candybar design and comes with 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen display with 262k colors support and 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

In addition, the FIRE sports a mediocre 3-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities (480p@24fps).

The smartphone packs 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

According to Motorola, the FIRE's 1420mAh battery is capable of providing up to 8 hours of talk time or up to 30 days of standby in 3G mode.
