Motorola Evoke QA4 has recently become available on Alltel, so users in the United States have now the opportunity to purchase the device. The announcement comes shortly after the news that MetroPCS has canceled the release of the handset, which was due out in May.

The new high-end slider includes a 2.8-inch touchscreen display that can provide a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, as well as a hardware alphanumeric keypad, coupled with a virtual QWERTY keyboard. In addition, there are also A-GPS capabilities, along with EVDO Rev A connectivity, a 2-megapixel photo snapper that also sports video recording capabilities, and a microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space.

Besides the fact that Motorola Evoke QA4 allows users to personalize their home screen with a wide range of widgets, which are meant to offer fast access to news, stocks, weather and traffic info, it also comes with integrated social networking capabilities, including built-in MySpace integration. We also have to mention the multimedia capabilities of the phone, which include media player, speakerphone and Bluetooth with stereo audio support, a full HTML browser, and GPS support via Alltel Navigator, along with other pre-loaded applications, such as TV on Demand and Radio on Demand.

“Alltel recognizes the explosion in the popularity of social networks, and Motorola Evoke QA4 is a powerful handset that will meet the needs of the ‘always connected’ consumer,” said Angela Rittgers, director of product management for Alltel Wireless. “Whether browsing, conversing, texting, blogging or networking, the Evoke lets customers stay in touch by the methods that match their lifestyle.”

Alltel says that Motorola Evoke QA4 is now available for $79.99 after $100 mail-in rebate and upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier on a qualifying Smart-Choice Pack, which is priced starting at $69.99 per month and includes unlimited data, email and Web access. The phone can be purchased either from Alltel retail stores or online from the company's site.
