Before this week is over, Verizon's customers should be able to purchase a new LTE-capable Android-based mobile phone on their carrier's network, namely the Motorola DROID Bionic. Nothing was officially announced on the matter, but most of the latest reports on it suggested that it would be launched as soon as tomorrow, September 8th.

The rumored release date for this device was confirmed via a series of video ads that the wireless carrier has already started to air for it, just as previously reported.

Moreover, DROID Bionic units have been already spotted in Verizon's stores, and a video unboxing of the new device also emerged recently, via the Android Central forums.

Today, a new video with the mobile phone is available for your viewing pleasure, with the handset filmed in what appears to be a Verizon store.

The DROID Bionic is compared to the DROID X at one point, but the differences between them are great, that's for sure, and we do not refer here to the outer look.

The new smartphone should arrive on shelves as the very first dual-core Android-based mobile phone at Verizon to sport LTE connectivity.

It is the fourth handset that Verizon plans on adding to its offering, following the release of HTC ThunderBolt, LG Revolution and Samsung DROID Charge earlier this year.

Previously, the mobile phone was said to come to the market with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and with the said powerful application processor, as well as with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities.

It would also sport up to 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot through which the storage space can be expanded by up to 32GB. WiFi and Bluetooth would be included into the mix as well, along with GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

The same as many enthusiasts on Verizon's network, we're expecting for an official announcement on the availability of DROID Bionic to emerge during the next several hours, so stay tuned for more on this.
