The rugged Motorola DEFY MINI smartphone has just been announced in Poland. The Android handset is expected to arrive at selected retail stores across the country sometime this month.

According to Motorola, the DEFY MINI will be available for purchase for a suggested retail price of 799 PLN (255 USD or 190 EUR) outright.

Aimed at active people who are looking for the perfect companion while on the move, Motorola DEFY MINI is dust and water resistant.

In addition, the smartphone sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Aside from the low price, Motorola DEFY MINI’s main selling point is the long-life battery autonomy. The phone is powered by a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 500 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.

Software-wise, the DEFY MINI runs Google’s Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system and Moto Switch UI on top.

The latter allows users quicker access to their favorite songs, apps and contacts. It appears that the UI is actively learning which of those are most frequently used and puts them on the home screen, just one click away.

Motorola DEFY MINI is Google-certified, so users can rest assured they will get access to more than 450,000 apps and games via Google Play store.

Furthermore, the handset packs an average 3-megapixel main camera with LED flash, as well as a secondary VGA front facing camera for self-portraits and video chats.

Motorola DEFY MINI is just the right mix of style, value, performance and toughness. It can stand up to whatever your busy life throws at you, keep you connected and organized, and capture and share your once-in-a-lifetime adventures – all with resilience and style,” said Małgorzata Matusiewicz, head of marketing, Central Europe, Mobile Devices, Motorola Mobility.
