Motorola has recently officially unveiled its i465 candybar handset under the name of Motorola Clutch i465. The new device sports a QWERTY keyboard, which is complemented by a rather interesting design, while being presented by the mobile phone maker as “its first device that combines the power of push-to-talk and the convenience of QWERTY.”

When it comes to what Motorola has packed the new Clutch i465 with, we can count military-tough durability, with support for extreme conditions like shock, vibration, dust, and solar radiation, along with a 1.79-inch TFT display that can provide users with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution and support for 64k colors, as well as a VGA photo snapper with video recording capabilities, Bluetooth 1.2 and micro USB connectivity.

While being the first Motorola iDEN full QWERTY handset that also includes push-to-talk technology, the new Motorola Clutch i465 also sports shortcut keys and software upgrades for easy texting functionality and support for threaded messaging, MMS and email (POP3). And when voice is needed, “Motorola’s leading push-to-talk technology is your verbal IM for keeping in constant contact.”

Other specifications of the new mobile phone also include a 20MB internal memory, as well as a battery that can offer up to 205 minutes of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. The new Motorola Clutch i465 measures 112.8 x 54 x 14.9 mm (4.4 x 2.1 x 0.6 inches) and weighs 96 grams (3.4 oz).

According to the mobile phone maker, the new iDEN handset will come to the market in the second quarter of the ongoing year, most probably in June. The wireless carrier to release the device into the wild is expected be Boost Mobile, yet no price tag for the Motorola Clutch i465 has been unveiled at the moment.
