Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA has just made available for purchase on its airwaves a new Android-based mobile phone, the Motorola CLIQ 2, which was launched officially only a few weeks ago, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The handset is available for purchase at the carrier with a price tag of $99.99 attached to it, upon the signing of a new contract agreement and after a $100.00 mail-in rebate.

The contract option would require the signing of an agreement on an Even More Talk + Text + Web plan, or the activation of a Web service of at least $30/mo. The full retail price tag for this device was set at $399.99.

“CLIQ 2 with MOTOBLUR lets you equally manage your social life and career so you’re always making the most of each day. Plus, it’s powered by an ultra-fast 1GHz processor and an innovative keyboard,” the wireless carrier notes.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixel) resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash, auto focus, and video recording capabilities.

The phone is powered by a 1 GHz application processor, complemented by 1GB available user memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (a 2GB card included in the package).

Sporting a sliding form factor, the Motorola CLIQ 2 runs Google's Android 2.2 Froyo, with support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1, which makes it capable of delivering a great browsing experience.

The specs list of this device also includes WiFi 802.11 b,g,n, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G mobile hotspot functionality, CrystalTalk Plus technology, GPS receiver, QuickOffice, and more.

The Motorola CLIQ 2 measures 59.6 x 116. x 14.5 mm and weighs in at 175 grams. It packs a 1420 mAh Li Ion battery that can offer up to 7.9 hours of talk time, or up to 13 days of standby time.
