AT&T and Motorola are looking for beta testers for the Android 2.2 software update that will be deployed to Motorola BRAVO devices in the near future.

A pre-release version is now available for those who wish to register for the beta program.

However, it seems that registering will not guarantee that you will be among the 1,000 BRAVO owners picked to test and provide feedback on the Froyo upgrade.

Although there's no time limit, the registration period will be open until the limit of qualified applicants is met.

To be eligible one must be a member of the Motorola Owners' Forums and fill out the short registration form.

According to Motorola, testers will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, but also on valid registration responses.

Those who meet the criteria and are selected by Motorola will receive additional information to prepare for the upgrade via email when the trial begins.

Furthermore, BRAVO owners are advised to avoid contacting customer service regarding the Froyo upgrade as they will not be able to provide assistance until it will be available to the general public.

A list of enhancements is also included with the announcement:

- The device now supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 - Applications can now be stored on the device’s microSD card and can be set to automatically update; - Wi-Fi Hotspot; - USB Tethering; - Added punctuation to the suggestion ribbon so contractions will display correctly.

There's also a list of Motorola BRAVO specific highlights of the upgrade, which include:

- Added profiles feature that provides three customizable sets of home screens; - Added new applications Files, Latitude, Places, News and Weather, Google Search; - Dialer search; - Added Task manager app to assist with managing apps; - LinkedIn social network accounts can now be added to integrate with contacts, social networking updates, and messaging; - Added new security features, including Exchange-based encryption and password security; - Updated the design of the user interface in Gallery.
