Wireless carrier AT&T and mobile phone maker Motorola are expected to make available for purchase in the United States in the near future what was recently touted as the most powerful smartphone in the world, namely the Motorola ATRIX 4G. The new device was announced officially during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, and should make it to shelves as soon as February, some of the latest rumors on the matter suggest.

The release date was not confirmed for the time being, but the phone is indeed expected to become available for purchase soon, and that date certainly fits the bill.

However, one thing that seems to have been confirmed, according to an Android Central forum member (via BGR), is that Best Buy would launch the smartphone first.

The Motorola ATRIX 4G should hit the shelves in the United States not only at AT&T, but through partner retailers as well, and Best Buy, along with RadioShack, and others, would be on the list.

Another interesting piece of info that should be noted here is that the laptop dock that would accompany the Motorola ATRIX 4G (complementing it with a full-sized keyboard and a trackpad) should be released with a price tag of $150 attached to it.

The source of these details is said to be an AT&T district representative who also claims that the smartphone would be launched on the market before other 4G-capable phones from AT&T would.

Previous rumors on this handset's availability suggested that March 1st would be the lucky day, but another forum post, this time around on Android Forums (via Phandroid) suggests that we might see the handset released sooner than that, on February 13th.

Of course, there is no official confirmation on this info, so we'll take it with a grain of salt for the time being. However, in case AT&T indeed decides to make the smartphone available for purchase so soon, more details should become available soon, so stay tuned to learn the news.
