Motive Television has announced it plans to unleash a TV streaming service for tablets, which will arrive completed with the “red button” experience as soon as June this year.

Yesterday we brought you news about a study which showed TV tablet viewership isn't so widespread as was previously thought. In fact, most TV lovers still prefer the good-old television set and new screens are keeping viewers hooked to the traditional model of TV watching.

But that doesn't mean service providers aren't trying to provide something for those who like to stream TV on their tablet. It’s the case of Motive Television that will be launching a full Freeview viewing experience for tablets, somewhere before June (via Broadbandtvnews).

The service will be rolled out in collaboration with hardware partner iCube, which is known for producing the TVizen tuner-antennas.

Movie Television will unleash its Tablet TV model for over 20 million tableters based in the UK, just in time for the FIFA World Club, but bigger plans are in stored ahead, as the service will go live internationally.

At the moment, Tablet Television is being tested in the US market and a full roll-out is expected to happen as soon as September. The company anticipates the service will have a great impact in the country, due to the high rate of tablet-ownership.

Tablet users looking to watch some TV on their slate, will be able to do so via a simple proprietary app working in concert with a T-Pod antenna tuner.

More than that, Tablet TV users will be allowed to tap into an extensive library of on-demand video, including movies and programs, which will be up for download without users necessitating an Internet connection per se.

Movie Television is hopeful its initiative will take off swiftly especially since studies indicate tablet ownership is expected to top 900 million worldwide by 2017.
