A lot of TV streaming tablet apps have been launched, but users still prefer regular TV

I have been telling you that tablet TV watching is getting quite popular among consumers there days, but for those worried that slates will actually steal the spotlight away from the old fashion TV, I have good news.

A recent study conducted by Thinkbox (via Broadbandnews) has revealed that times aren't so dark for the TV; quite the contrary, the average viewer will spend more than 3 hours and 55 minutes watching TV programs.

98.5% of this time is spent in front of the traditional TV-set, while the remaining, a meek 1.5% is grabbed by tablets and smartphones.

So actually the transition to tablet TV watching is not going so smooth, as some of us might have originally expected. That's because new TV screens, which are constantly being rolled out by device makers, manage to grab the attention of TV lovers and are creating a lot of opportunities for advertisers too, so the TV is not going anywhere any time fast.
