The device runs Windows Mobile 6.1

Handheld Europe unveiled, at the CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany, a new rugged PDA, namely the Nautiz X5. The device features an 806 Mhz processor, integrated barcode scanner, GPS with InstantFix II, WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity, a 3-megapixel camera with LED Flash and auto focus, as well as 3G cellular capabilities.

The new Nautiz X5 rugged PDA is said to be IP65 rated, while also being able to withstand extreme temperatures, as well as multiple drops from 1.8 m. The handset features 256 MB RAM and 512 MB built-in Flash storage, but it also includes a memory card slot to allow for additional storage space.

The specification list of Nautiz X5 shows it supports 3G cellular connectivity (HSDPA/EDGE), as well as GSM, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, 802.11b/g WLAN with WEP, WPA, WPA2, CCX Cisco Compatible extensions, integrated GPS Sirf III, as well as the Barcode Scanner Integrated laser 1D barcode scanner with Optional 2D Imager.

The device is powered by a Marvell PXA320 Xscale 806 MHz processor and runs under Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The new Nautiz X5 is certified for both dust and water resistance, and is able to operate in relative humidity ranging from 5% to 90%, as well as at temperatures between -20 and 55 °C (-4 and 131 °F). It also withstands -25 to 70 °C (-13 to 158 °F) temperature ranges for the storage.

Nautiz X5 sports a 3.5″ VGA TFT LCD, which is able to deliver a 480 x 640 pixel resolution, as well as a 4400 mAh rechargeable LI-ion battery, stated to offer all-day operation with default settings, while also being hot-swappable. The device measures 160 x 80 x 35.5 mm (6.3″ x 3.15″ x 1.4″) and weighs 410 g (14.46 ounces), battery included.
