Mitac Technology announced that it would demonstrate the latest offerings from Getac's rugged solutions at the CeBIT exhibition this year. The showcasing will include the Getac PS535F, a fully rugged GPS PDA that comes with an auto-focus photo snapper, altimeter and E-compass for easy navigation, and new durable notebooks, which have been included in the 9212 and 9213 series.

The Getac PS535F rugged GPS PDA has been designed to prove itself as the perfect option for GIS surveying applications over a range of sectors that would include utilities, oil and gas, or forest patrol, as well as for surveying and mapping of geology and mineral resources.

The handset comes with a 300g lightweight design, is able to provide eight hours of operational battery power and has been developed and tested to withstand both rigorous everyday use as well as tough environments. The Getac PS535F provides compliance with MIL-STD 810F and IP54, and also includes safeguards for accidental drops and exposure to water, dust or extreme temperatures.

The built-in 3-megapixel auto-focus camera the PS535F packs can enable instant visual data capture, while the VGA touchscreen display that features sunlight readable technology is meant to leverage the viewing quality of any detailed map or image file.

Besides the built-in GPS, PS535F also includes built-in altimeter and E-compass, meant to provide even better navigation support. The device also comes with wireless connectivity options, including Bluetooth V2.0 capabilities and 802.11b/g WiFi.

The new 9212 and 9213 lines of durable notebooks sport a magnesium alloy casing, and have been designed with built-in TPM and fingerprint reader. In addition, the new mobile machines have been packed with safeguards against accidental drops, and they are also able to provide resistance to vibration and shock, as well as water spillages.
