Although it wasn't made official by Sony, we have all the reasons to believe that God of War is coming PSP's way this year. On the back of the God of War booklet for the PlayStation2, are all the signs indicating that a PSP porting of the action-adventure title based on Greek Mythology, is happening some time soon. So now that God of War on PSP is a fact, the game's director Cory Barlog is telling more about it, in an interview with 1UP.

As Barlog stated, the game "connects to the overall story. God of War, God of War 2, and then if all the stars align God of War 3 will be the telling of a trilogy. This PSP story will be a further fleshing out." So, no more guessing whether it's happening or not because we heard it straight from the man's mouth. The exact date however, hasn't been made official, but it's good to know that it's this year.

God of War focuses heavily on combat and puzzle-solving. It has intuitive control and starting out won't be that difficult, but advancing in the game's story will prove to be a true challenge. The combat system is context-based, meaning that the player's actions are often determined as much by the enemy's pose around him as by the button pressed. Sometimes, it's all about fast reactions. If you see the square symbol, you'd better press it in the next 2 or three nanoseconds. Not really, just kidding, but it's close. Of course, like other adventure games, it involves a fair amount of puzzles as well.

So it is practically the perfect recipe for a PSP title. And didn't they know it...? Oh, don't forget about God of War 2. It's coming in Europe on the 30th of March.
