Most of them “available at or near launch”

It seems that the high-end Palm Pre mobile phone is ready to make a wide range of users rejoice as soon as it becomes available for purchase with Sprint, not only due to the more-than-attractive features that we have already learned it packs inside, but also due to a variety of applications that it should support either at launch, or soon after coming to the market.

The list of such software solutions that will find their way onto the webOS-powered handset includes Pandora, Electronic Arts, SGN, Craig's List, Sling Media, DirectTV, Facebook, MySpace, Match.com, Loopt, Twitter, City Search, Zagat, Fandango, Movietickets.com, Lonely Planet, FlightView, NYTimes, AP Mobile, ESPN, Handmark Stocks, Bank of America, Intuit, Epocrates, WebMD, Salesforce.com, Austin Lane, DataViz and Mark/Space, as shown in a recently leaked shot.

Some of the apps were already expected to come to the handset, such as Pandora, which was touted both at CES and CTIA, or Facebook's app, which was reported to see deep integration within Palm Pre's platform. According to the recently published launch guide for the Palm Pre, DataViz's DocumentsToGo won't come at launch, but only soon afterwards.

It remains to be seen what games Electronic Arts will provide for Pre's operating system, as well as what app MySpace will offer, in a tight competition with Facebook's WebOS integration. The Sling Media app also comes as an interesting piece of information, especially given the fact that it initially stated that no such solution would come in the near future.

Until the Palm Pre becomes available for purchase and we will be able to have a look at all those apps that should come around for its platform, we should mention that a little more details on what the handset will include when it comes to its settings have emerged into the wild, such as the fact that it should come out-of-the-box with ten ringtones, and that users will be able to select ringtones through the Music Library.

In addition, it looks like the handset also features “Advance Gestures,” offering the possibility to “switch between the next or previous app with an entire length swipe of the gesture area,” or the option to hide notifications while the phone is locked, while the locking is performed via a PIN or a Password. Moreover, it comes with geo-tagging capabilities, a PDF View app, and language support for English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Dutch and Portuguese.

As many of you might already know, the Palm Pre will also include a YouTube App, which is now reported to allow users to share videos via Email or text message, but won't allow them to rate or comment on videos. The video below shows how the YouTube App on Pre works, and you can find more such videos on Pre Thinking.
