A huge cache of information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is being developed inside publisher Activision Blizzard by studio Infinity Ward, has been made public and, while most players seem to be interested in the single-player campaign, it seems that the multiplayer will offer significantly more content than the second game in the series.

A number of sources inside Infinity Ward have talked to Kotaku and are saying that gamers can expect to see more complex maps on which to fight each other while also taking part in cooperative play with some new modes thrown in.

Here are the multiplayer-oriented maps that will be found in Modern Warfare 3:

Alpha Alps Bootleg Bravo Brooklyn Carbon Coast Dome Exchange Hardhat Interchange Lambeth Meteora Mogadishu Paris Plaza 2 Radar Seatown Underground Village

This is no way a final list and no actual details were offered on the content on the maps.

The 20 maps mentioned above seem a bit much for the initial release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which might mean that the game might first arrive with 10 of them included, with the others bundled into a two downloadable content packs that could also add other stuff, like more weapons, more modes or visual changes.

The Special Ops modes that will be included in the game are Survival, which will be playable on maps like Carbon, Dome, Seatown, Village and Radar, and Mission, which will take the form of Civilian Rescue, Wing Man, Out of Africa, Little Bro's, No Fly Zone, Invisible Threat and Flood the Market.

Sources are saying that the Survival game mode will be pretty close to the Horde concept pioneered by Gears of War, with players fighting off waves of enemies.

The leak says that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released on all major gaming platforms on November 8 of this year.

Activision has reacted by releasing four small trailers that can be downloaded from Softpedia, named America, England, Germany and France.
