Quite pricey though

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the biggest games set to appear this fall, right before the holiday season begins. This, coupled with the huge amount of popularity that the first Modern Warfare enjoyed and the recent inclusion of the Call of Duty moniker, will guarantee a lot of big sales for its publisher, Activision.

But the large corporation isn't satisfied with getting $60 for the regular game copies, and has now announced, through the voice of Robert Bowling, the community manager over at Infinity Ward, which is developing the game, that it will receive two very special editions.

The first version of the title will be called the Hardened edition, and will feature the regular copy of the game packed in a special Steelbook case, much like every normal edition that aims at squeezing some more money out of the regular gamer. It will cost around $79.

But what will certainly pick the interest of any hardcore gamer will be game's Prestige edition, which will come with not only a Steelbook casing, but also an art book called Behind the Lines, a token that will allow you to download the original Call of Duty game from the Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network service, and a sculpted Soap McTavish head, which will definitely come in handy when you won't find anywhere to put your night vision goggles.

That's right, you read it right, it seems that for “just” $149, gamers who will want to have an exclusive Modern Warfare 2 experience will be able to get their hands on a fully functional pair of night vision goggles, courtesy of Infinity Ward and Activision.

The two editions are already available for pre-order and will certainly make a lot of hardcore gamers and Call of Duty fans spend their hard-earned money on them. Here's the video made by Robert Bowling in which he unboxes the special editions.
