Fans have plenty of reasons to celebrate: “Resident Evil 5” will happen and will take place in Tokyo. Over the weekend, leading actress Milla Jovovich took to her Twitter to dish plenty of details on the location and the storyline of the upcoming installment.

Of course, fans are probably not surprised that a fifth movie will be made since it was something that Milla said shortly after the fourth premiered to excellent sales (though to so-so reviews).

The film is now in pre-production, but Milla is clearly already hyped about starting to work on it.

“I love Tokyo! 1 of my favorite cities in the world! We're gonna come film some scenes 4 the nxt RE in Tokyo!!!” the actress tweeted, adding that she was dying to go to Tokyo to shoot for the film.

In later tweets, Milla was even more generous with details: apparently, this one will be a sort of origin story. If not, it will at least shed some light on her character’s origins, she promises.

“OMG! Paul [W.S. Anderson] has such a grt idea 4 the nxt RE film and there will b a HUGE surprise abt the origin of Alice!” the actress gushes.

“paul is still writing the script, but he’s got the story down. Its gonna b CRAZY! N fans r gonna luv who we bring back! As well as new characters n the zombies r goin 2 the nxt level!!!!” Milla further says.

No word yet on whether the characters who will be making a comeback in the fifth movie are from the fifth installment or from earlier ones.

According to reports circulating back when “Afterlife,” the fourth film, came out, the fifth would take more into consideration feedback from fans and the gaming community.

Gamers always pick on the “RE” franchise because it doesn’t respect chronology and major details in the game: reports have it that the fifth film will try to remedy that, as we also informed you some time ago.
