With the release of her latest single, “Can’t Be Tamed,” the first off her upcoming album by the same name, Miley Cyrus is looking to break free and move away from her squeaky clean Disney image, in a bid to cater for more mature audiences. Her performance on Britain’s Got Talent the other night can only be seen in this context, the Daily Mail says.

This is not the first time that Miley performs “Can’t Be Tamed,” so there was little surprise as to her outfit, choreography and onstage attitude. However, as the video below will also confirm, for BGT, the former Disney child star introduced a little something that managed to get a lot of tongues wagging, just like Adam Lambert’s similar stint at the American Music Awards late last year also did.

In other words, at one point through the song, as Miley sings about how she can’t be tamed and how it’s better to just let her be otherwise she’ll explode, she grabs a female dancer, bends her over and then mimes planting a big one on her lips. The Mail says the kiss was not for real and was only included in the choreography for the sake of making a strong case and putting on a great (rock) show. Still, the publication points out, Britain’s Got Talent is a family show and Miley’s performance might have been just a tad too much for audiences.

Ever since she came out with the video for “Can’t Be Tamed,” Miley has not been getting a moment’s rest, constantly being questioned and criticized in the media. Her fans, though, are not complaining about the sudden change in style and sound, which goes to show that the star is actually enjoying great odds of getting to see her dream come true: that of being allowed to grow up both literally and artistically, without losing the “Miley factor” and her millions of fans from her Hannah Montana days.

In fact, growing up is what “Can’t Be Tamed,” song and video, is all about. “My mom was on set. And my dad loves it, because I think my dad was thinking I was a little crazy as I was writing it. When you see it, they were so proud of the treatment I came up with. I think it definitely shows a change of what people remember me as, but it’s not trying to not be me. I didn’t want to be just a character. I wanted to be myself and just in a bird-like form in the way I dressed,” Miley was saying about the vid a while back, as we also informed you.
