Miley Cyrus was born to be the entertainer you see today, even if you’re probably having trouble recognizing her for the pop star whose music you bought a couple of years back, and you feel a bit cheated because of it.

Miley has a new MTV documentary coming out on October 2, called “The Movement.” A first trailer for it is embedded below.

Including footage shown before the controversial VMAs 2013 performance, the trailer leaves no room for doubt that Miley was fully aware of the storm she’d cause with it.

“You’re always gonna make people talk, you might as well make them talk for like two weeks, rather than two seconds,” she says at one point.

She wanted to get a reaction, to get people to pay attention to her and she got it. We’re still talking about her and her awkward twerking at the awards show.

Speaking of her change in look and attitude, Miley insists she’s no one puppet.

“I was like born to become who I am right now. Right now I’m at a point in my career where I can be exactly who I wanna be, what I wanna be. I have this freedom to do whatever I want because I’m starting as a new artist now. Every time I do anything I wanna remember this is what separates me from everybody else,” she says.

Check it out.
