The NXE problems have been resolved

Microsoft has been experiencing a very good period in the last few months, in terms of gaming, as its Xbox 360 console has been selling quite a lot, due to its price cut and the wide variety of bundles that were introduced ahead of last year's holiday season.

But one of the most important and expected additions to the North American console was the dashboard update entitled the New Xbox Experience, which promised to replace the old blade system with a completely new and more user-friendly one. While the release occurred almost without any problems, it was soon after that that people began to complain about the fact that their HDMI-enabled consoles were no longer emitting any audio signal, effectively silencing their Xbox 360s.

While the problem appeared quite some time ago, it is only now that Microsoft has released a dashboard update in order to fix it. The announcement, made by Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, the Xbox 360 community manager, states that an audio signal will now be emitted by the console via the HDMI interface and everything should be alright.

“Starting Tuesday morning at 0200 Pacific when you sign into Xbox Live you’ll be prompted for a mandatory dashboard update. The update addresses the issue that a few folks were having with audio and their HDMI connection. This update will be rolled out to all Xbox LIVE members around the world over the space of a few hours, so you may not get prompted for the update immediately. Thanks for your patience.”

Xbox 360 owners rejoice as sound will once again be heard when you play your favorite games. But has Microsoft delayed this patch a bit too much? If you think so, leave us a comment below this article.
