Audio output problem detected

The New Xbox Experience, or NXE, has really been one of the most hyped up updates to the Xbox 360 console by Microsoft. It promised to eliminate the old blade user interface and replace it with something that would be more user friendly and help gamers personalize their own Xbox experience.

Launched in the middle of November, the new interface had a few minor problems, but nothing very severe, as almost all of the 25 million Xbox 360 users expressed the fact that the new interface was installed with no problems whatsoever. But in some cases a pretty big problem popped up, which rendered the console completely silent, as the audio output was broken by this new interface.

It seems that the problem is a compatibility issue between the updated protocols of the NXE, which renders the audio output via the HDMI cable inoperable. Microsoft has taken notice of this issue and has emphasized the fact that the development team is currently working on a solution to this glitch. However, it hasn't mentioned anything about the presumed date at which this fix could be launched.

"While the vast majority of our users worldwide are enjoying the New Xbox Experience with no problems, we are aware that a handful of Xbox LIVE users are experiencing audio issues, and are diligently monitoring this issue and working towards a solution. We appreciate our members' enthusiasm and patience, and apologize for any inconveniences," reads the official press release.

Let's just hope that the users who experienced this are few in number and that Microsoft is working hard on a patch that might be launched soon. The NXE was probably one of the biggest projects for the North American console manufacturer and problems like this were bound to happen. Hopefully, nothing too severe will happen in the near future and this compatibility issue will be the biggest problem with the NXE.
