14 DAY TRIAL // For Microsoft, the latest months have been all about low- and mid-range smartphones, as the company prepares for the release of Windows 10 for Phones this summer.
The latest smartphone launched by Microsoft, Lumia 430 is the cheapest Windows Phone handset to date.
The device will be available for purchase beginning next month for only $70 (€60) outright, which is $5 (€4) less than the previous affordable smartphone announced by the company, the Lumia 435.
We also reported less than two weeks ago that another low-end Lumia smartphone codenamed RM-1141 might be released on the market. The device was spotted at Zauba as arriving in India from China, for testing purposes.
The only information we had on the Lumia RM-1141 at that time was the fact that it would sport a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution and that it would cost around $125 (€120).
Still, since the price tags listed in Zauba documents are only for import/export reasons, there's a high chance that the RM-1142 might be priced differently when it gets released in India.
Anyway, the folks over at NokiaPowerUser report that the RM-1141 has reappeared at Zauba, but this time with slightly different specs.
Is this the Indian version of Lumia 640?
It looks like the smartphone won't be coming with a small 4-inch display after all, as the handset is now listed as having a larger 5-inch capacitive touchscreen.
The resolution hasn't been listed yet, but since this is a mid-range smartphone, it should support qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.
However, we shouldn't rule out the possibility of RM-1141 having an HD (720p) display, which is also included in the Lumia 640, another mid-ranger.
Unfortunately, it's unclear whether or not this is a completely new device, or the Indian version of Lumia 640, which has been recently unveiled by Microsoft.
We do know the handset will offer dual-SIM support, so it's clearly a India-specific Lumia smartphone, but let's wait for more info to emerge before making any speculations. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
